The C.E. Eddy prize is awarded to the most successful candidates in the
Part I examination in both Radiology and Radiation Oncology. This prize
is named in honour of the late Dr Cecil Eddy, a former Director of what
is now the Australian Radiation Laboratory, who did much to establish
a sound physical basis for the practice of Radiology in Australia.
Radiology lost one of its most distinguished practitioners when Gordon
Donnan died in 1993. Gordon Donnan is remembered as one of a small band
of radiologists who steered the RANZCR through its formative years. The
M.G.F. Donnan Prize is awarded to the best candidate in Pathology at the
Part II Radiodiagnosis examination.
The H.R. Sear Prize is awarded to the most successful candidate in the
Part II Radiodiagnosis examination. The Prize honours Dr Herbert Ray Sear,
an early President of the College, who enjoyed an international reputation
in skeletal radiology.
This prize is named in honour of the late Dr Kaye Scott, an amazing man
who played a vital role in the life of our College for many years. In
particular, he was Warden of the Membership for 17 years and was President
of the College in 1958. He was awarded the Gold Medal of the College in
1969 for his dedicated service to the College's educational ideals over
very many years. The Prize is awarded only to a very outstanding candidate.
