A Continuing Professional Development Random Audit of active college members will be conducted on an annual basis. The CPD Audit is an integral element in the College's role in assisting the profession with its obligations to self-regulate.
Part of the objective of the audit is to ascertain the feasibility and rigour of the CPD program requirements and if necessary, amend these accordingly.
A random audit of 5% of active College Members will be conducted each year. It was determined that the selection should include Fellows & Educational Affiliates however we would not stratify the selection process by any other criteria.
Random Audit 2004
The CPD Random Audit for 2004 was the pilot program, the CPD Committee found the data provided by the audit extremely helpful in further refining the CPD Program.
While the majority of claims were verified correctly, many participants provided verification that was considered acceptable but did not meet the stated verification in the handbook. As such, the committee has expanded the acceptable verification for some activities. Details of these changes can be found by clicking here.
Aim of the Audit
By analysing the Audit data we are endeavouring to answer these four questions:
- Was a claim made for activity X?
- If a claim was made, was it made correctly?
- Did the participant attempt to verify this activity?
- If verification was provided, was it the correct verification?
