Phase 1 Trainee Progression Requirements
Trainees commencing in the new training program will be mailed a learning and assessment portfolio. The learning and assessment portfolio is used across the whole training program to compile a documentary record of learning and activities, helping to demonstrate that the specified skills and knowledge of a diagnostic radiologist have been acquired.
Trainees are required to compile a portfolio to include all required training and assessment documentation for the duration of the training program. Trainees must also make their portfolio available for review and assessment at specified stages in training. Directors of Training (DOTs) will need to review each trainee’s learning portfolio to ascertain if all required training and assessments relevant to the trainee’s stage of training have been completed, as part of the bi annual DOT Assessment.
There are key milestones that trainees must achieve at specific times during phase 1 (years 1-3) of training.
It is the trainee’s responsibility to ensure they are meeting the training program assessments in accordance with the trainee progression requirements. It is not the responsibility of Directors of Training or Clinical Supervisors to remind trainees when assessments are due.
