Education
and Training Programs The Education and Training Programs of the College are central to its activity. The College has three such programs: the Radiology Training Program, the Radiation Oncology Training Program for medical graduates wishing to obtain a specialist qualification and the Continuing Professional Development Program primarily aimed at Fellows and Educational Affiliates. The postgraduate training programs aim to provide the education and training experience that will produce the high quality, competent specialists of the future. The training programs are developed by the Education Board in Radiology and Radiation Oncology who are also responsible for the final assessments and examinations that lead to Fellowship of the College. The Continuing Professional Development Program aims to ensure that Fellows and Affiliated members of the College have the opportunity to keep up with the latest developments in their specialty, continually improve their skills and knowledge and extend their professional development. From time to time, the College undertakes Special Projects in education, training and CPD. Two such projects are the Curriculum Development Project and the Principles of Training Programs Project. These projects are major initiatives which aim to review the specification and delivery of the postgraduate education programs of the College. In Radiation Oncology, the Faculty have elected to be a pilot site for a new framework for CPD developed by the CPMC and RANZCOG. For further information:
