Specialty training as a radiation oncologist is undertaken after completion of a medical degree and at least two years postgraduate clinical training. The Faculty of Radiation Oncology is the specialist medical college responsible for the training and assessment.
To enter the training program, potential trainees first need to obtain a position at an accredited site. The Faculty accredits centres to provide training that meets standards in areas such as trainee to consultant ratio and a capacity and commitment to provide a quality teaching and learning environment.
