1 Examination - Applied Imaging Technology Examination Format The examinations in Applied Imaging Technology consists of a 2 hour written and a 2 hour multiple choice question paper. The first paper is of essay format. Answers to questions on the first paper are expected to be in a reasoned, explanatory essay form. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to communicate ideas clearly. Point form answers without reasoned and explanatory support will not be regarded as sufficient. Calculators or any other devices which can be programmed or are capable of storing formulae of alphanumeric information are not allowed. Calculators for use by candidates during the multiple choice examination will be provided (Casio fx-82 Super). It is expected that all candidates will have a comprehensive knowledge of the physical basis of all imaging modalities and radiation protection. Regular revision of the syllabus is organised by the Education Board on the basis of comments from examiners and students, together with the introduction of new modalities.
