Examination Awards

The following Examination Prizes are awarded by the Radiology and Radiation Oncology Education Board. Examination Prizes are awarded to candidates who are sitting the exams for the first time. The Part II Examination Prizes will be awarded annually after the second series of exams.

CE Eddy – Part I Examination Value
The C.E. Eddy prize is awarded to the most successful candidates in the Part I examination in both Radiology and Radiation Oncology. This prize is named in honour of the late Dr Cecil Eddy, a former Director of what is now the Australian Radiation Laboratory, who did much to establish a sound physical basis for the practice of Radiology in Australia. $1,200 & Registration fee waived to attend ASM for presentation at Annual Ceremony.
M.G.F Donnan – Part II Examination Value
Radiology lost one of its most distinguished practitioners when Gordon Donnan died in 1993. Gordon Donnan is remembered as one of a small band of radiologists who steered the RANZCR through its formative years. The M.G.F. Donnan Prize is awarded to the best candidate in Pathology at the Part II Radiology examination. $1,700 & Registration fee waived to attend ASM for presentation at Annual Ceremony
H.R. SEAR PRIZE – Part II Examination Value
The H.R. Sear Prize is awarded to the most successful candidate in the Part II Radiology examination. The Prize honours Dr Herbert Ray Sear, an early President of the College, who enjoyed an international reputation in skeletal radiology. $1,700 & Registration fee waived to attend ASM for presentation at Annual Ceremony
Kaye Scott Value
This prize is named in honour of the late Dr Kaye Scott, an amazing man who played a vital role in the life of our College for many years. In particular, he was Warden of the Membership for 17 years and was President of the College in 1958. He was awarded the Gold Medal of the College in 1969 for his dedicated service to the College's educational ideals over very many years. The Prize is awarded only to a very outstanding candidate in Radiation Oncology.
