The role of a Specialist Medical College and University are complementary,
and both integral to the training of medical professionals.
Through conjoint appointments with various universities throughout Australia
and New Zealand, College Fellows play an important role in ensuring that
current, clinically relevant information about Radiology and Radiation
Oncology is imparted to medical students. A number of groups including
the Academic Radiologists Group
and the Faculty
of Radiation Oncologys Research Committee are involved in supporting
and further encouraging these connections.
The College provides postgraduate vocational training
in the disciplines of Radiology and Radiation Oncology. These five year
courses is structured to cover both clinical expertise aspects of medical
practice as well as to extend the broader professional skills required
of doctors today.
In addition, the RANZCR provides a Continuing
Professional Program to enable its members to continually improve
their skills and knowledge throughout their professional careers.
The College partners with university teams and individual academics on
projects in the fields of education
and other areas of health research and communication, such as the conduct
and analysis of workforce
surveys.
