The area of need (AoN) process aims to meet gaps in radiology service delivery, primarily in rural and remote areas, due to the inability of employers, whether in the public or private sectors, to attract locally trained specialists into positions.

The main aim of the assessment process is to determine the applicant's suitability for the specified position, in a designated Area of Need (AoN).
