Inside News

  • Inside News is the College newsletter, published quarterly. It contains information for members on the activities of the College and developments affecting the radiology and radiation oncology professions. Members receive a copy of the College newsletter, Inside News, delivered to their work or home address.

College enewsletters

  • All College members receive a copy of the College enewsletter each month. There is also a selection of other enewsletters that members can subscribe to when they register on the College website.

College Wall Planner

  • Members of the College receive a copy of the College Wall Planner in November each year. It lists important dates in the College calendar, including examination dates, Council meetings and the Annual Scientific Meeting.

The Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology (JMIRO)

  • JMIRO is the official journal of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists. It publishes articles of scientific excellence in radiology and radiation oncology. Members receive a copy of the Journal bi-monthly.

College Calendar

  • The College Calendar lists local and international meetings, conferences, workshops and courses. Members can add details of their own event to the Calendar.

Update on Australasian Implementation of MRI Conditional Pacemaker
The first MRI-conditional pacemaker, the Medtronic 'Advisa DR MRI Surescan', was launched on the Australian market at the end of April. It is understood that about 100 units have already been implanted.
Passenger Airport Screening Technologies
ARPANSA has recently released a fact sheet providing information on radiation risks associated with the recently introduced Passenger Airport Screening Technologies.
Unnecessary CT Scans
Dr Matthew Andrews, President of RANZCR has endorsed the concerns raised by Dr Tony Webber, Director of Medicare’s Professional Services Review, about the inappropriate use of CT scans.

However, Dr Andrews said that this concern about CT should not be about blaming doctors. He said that Radiologists are always concerned to minimise all risks including radiation risks to patients from ionising imaging examinations;
