| Trainees Committee |
A Trainees’ Committee for each of Radiology and Radiation Oncology will soon be established by the College to represent trainees’ interests with RANZCR. The DRAFT Terms of Reference, Roles and Responsibilities and a nomination/election processes are now available for review and comment.

| Governance |
Radiology Trainee Members are encouraged to participate in additional activities which include College Governance. Currently Junior members are represented on a number of Committee and Boards.
Eligible Junior Radiologists are student members and Fellows not more that 5 years standing, who have completed the Part II Examination. The term is for 2 years commencing 1 January following the year of election.
These criteria will change with the introduction of the Trainees Committee – see top of page.

| Faculty Board |
The Faculty of Radiation Oncology Board is responsible to Council for representing and advancing the interest of members who are Radiation Oncologists. The Board consists of 12 Fellows elected by the general Fellowship at large with one member elected as Dean of the Faculty of Radiation Oncology.
Dr Art Kaminski is the current Junior Faculty Board Representative. |
| Radiation Oncology Education Board |
The training, education and examination conduct and structures for Radiation Oncology are the responsibility of the Education Board. The Education Board consists of the Fellows elected by the Fellowship, the Chief Censor in Radiation Oncology, the Chief Accreditation Officer and the Junior representative.
Dr Amy Shorthouse is the current Junior representative on the Radiation Oncology Education Board.

| FRO Research Committee |
The Research Committee is responsible for developing policies and mechanisms to promote the conduct and reporting of quality research by Fellows and Junior Forum members of the Faculty.
Dr Mark Sidholm is the current Junior FRO Research Committee Representative.

| ASM Management Committee |
This newly established committee oversees the development and management of the College’s Annual Scientific Meeting. The Committee has recognised the importance of Trainee Representation and has created a Trainee position on the Committee. This representative will be appointed through the soon to be established Radiology Trainees’ Committee. |
| Volunteer Opportunities |
Trainees are integral to the future of Radiation Oncology and the College encourages its Trainees to become involved.
If you would like to make a contribution to the Radiation Oncology profession consider the following opportunities:
- Nominate to be a Trainee Representative on a College Board or Committee.
- Participate in Trainee Forum activities.
- Contribute to articles in the College newsletter, Inside News or its e newsletter.
- Contribute scientific articles to the College’s medical journal, the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology.
- Join a Special Interest Group that represents your area of special interest.
Ensure that your views are incorporated into the College’s decision making process. |

| 2008 ASM |
The College’s 59th Annual Scientific Meeting will be held at the Adelaide Convention and Exhibition Centre from 16th – 19th October and Trainee Forums for Radiology and Radiation Oncology have been confirmed. Further information and registration can be found on the ASM website. |
| Abstract Submission |
The ASM invites the submission of abstracts on original work for consideration for a Scientific Paper, Scientific Exhibit or Educational Exhibit in the Radiation Oncology Program. Submissions have now closed. |
| Faculty Forum |
The Faculty of Radiation Oncology presents a Faculty Forum Session during the College’s Annual meeting. Check your onsite meeting program for session time and venue. |
| Faculty Dinner |
Radiation Oncologists are invited to get together and enjoy the atmosphere with colleagues while at the Annual Meeting. The Faculty Dinner is usually held on the Thursday evening of the meeting. Further details will be available on the ASM website when they become available. |
