EPOS TM Guidelines for ASM 2010

CSM 2009

The College’s Annual Scientific Meeting moved from traditional posters to electronic presentations in 2007, and in 2010 the electronic presentation system will take on a different electronic format using EPOSTM. The Electronic Presentation Online System (EPOSTM) was developed in 2003 by the European Congress of Radiology (ECRTM) and remains a permanent online database of scientific and educational presentations.

Diagnostic Imaging Pathways

Diagnostic Imaging Pathways

Diagnostic Imaging Pathways (DIP) is an on-line evidence-based and consensus-based clinical decision and educational tool aimed at referrers and future referrers (medical students) to diagnostic imaging. It is freely available on the internet – www.imagingpathways.health.wa.gov.au.

DIP comprises about 140 clinical scenarios organised by organ system. For each scenario there is a flow chart showing indications for imaging and the appropriate order of imaging.

DIP is endorsed by RANZCR.

INSIDE NEWS
Unnecessary CT Scans
Dr Matthew Andrews, President of RANZCR has endorsed the concerns raised by Dr Tony Webber, Director of Medicare’s Professional Services Review, about the inappropriate use of CT scans.

However, Dr Andrews said that this concern about CT should not be about blaming doctors. He said that Radiologists are always concerned to minimise all risks including radiation risks to patients from ionising imaging examinations
