New Zealand Branch Governance

The New Zealand Branch is the national body representing the College and its members in New Zealand.

The purpose and role of the New Zealand Branch is to:

  • Facilitate communication with and between members 
  • Facilitate interaction between members and develop opportunities to further develop their education as part of Continued Professional Development (CPD)
  • Represent the professional, educational and political interests of radiologists and radiation oncologists at all levels within the Branch 
  • Provide a conduit of information to and from Branch members with the College Council. 


The Branch is governed by a New Zealand Committee, which is responsible for a wide range of activities and represents the College in dealings with government and agencies, i.e. the Ministry of Heath, Health Workforce New Zealand, the Medical Council of New Zealand, Accident Compensation Corporation, etc.

New Zealand Committee Elections 

Every two years, an election is held of the New Zealand Committee to take office on 1 January the following year.

The next election will be held in 2012. Nominations will be called for New Zealand Committee positions with the term of office to commence 1 January 2013.  A nomination form will be sent to voting members in May. In the meantime, contact the Branch Secretariat for more information at nzbranch@ranzcr.org.nz

ELECTION FOR NEW ZEALAND CHAIR (from 2013) will take place at the AGM in July. This position will be vacant and must be filled. Please contact the Branch office to register an expression of interest or for more information about the position contact the current Chair, Dr Mike Baker.
