In New Zealand the requirements for registration within a vocational scope of practice of diagnostic and interventional radiology, or radiation oncology, differ to those in Australia.
First contact for all registration matters should be with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ). The MCNZ will assess the eligibility of doctors who have qualifications, training and experience as specialists overseas for registration within a vocational scope of practice.
The MCNZ website is very informative to understand the registration pathway in New Zealand. Refer also to the self assessment tool for international medical graduates to see if you are eligible for registration in New Zealand.
If you wish to live permanently in New Zealand the MCNZ would refer you to either the RANZCR New Zealand Diagnostic or Radiation Oncology Branch Advisory Boards (BAB) for interview. The purpose of the interview (not an examination) is to comprehensively assess your training, qualifications and experience, (based on equivalence of training, qualifications and experience to that of a New Zealand or Australian trained Radiologist or Radiation Oncologist),. The BAB will subsequently make a recommendation to the MCNZ (which is the final arbiter) as to your suitability for registration within the vocational scopes of Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology or Radiation Oncology.
Contact the MCNZ direct if you have any queries concerning this process, including the timeframe and fees that apply.
A good site to access for medical specialist vacancies is www.healthpages.co.nz.
With regard to migration to New Zealand you should visit the Department of Labour Immigration Service website.
