The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists is bound
by the National Privacy Principles (Australia) and the Information Privacy
Principles (New Zealand).
The College collects information in order to carry out its role and functions
as defined in its Memorandum of Association and summarised in the College
mission statement: "to set, promote and continuously improve the
standards of training and practice in diagnostic and interventional radiology
and radiation oncology in Australian and New Zealand".
The information we collect is primarily to ensure that our records are
current and accurate. The College will not disclose your personal information
to third parties except to hospitals and other health institutions medical
colleges and specialist medical societies, government and statutory bodies
(where required) and to service providers and only for purposes directed
related to:
- Providing education, training and continuing professional development;
- The supply of services and products endorsed by or associated with
the College;
- Your fellowship/membership of the College.
Where such information is provided to third parties the College will
take all reasonable steps to ensure that the recipient handles your personal
information in accordance with the appropriate privacy principles and
only for the purpose for which it was provided.
We will provide you with opportunities to correct address information
on a regular basis. The College has appointed one of its staff as a Privacy
Officer in order to assist staff in ensuring that the College procedures
are undertaken in accordance with the Privacy Principles.
