International Day of Radiology
The College is proud to participate in the International Day of Radiology, which is an initiative of the European Society of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America and the American College of Radiology.
The International Day of Radiology is an annual event which is held with the aim of building greater awareness of the value that radiology contributes to safe patient care and improving understanding of the vital role radiologists play in the healthcare continuum.
The event is celebrated on 8 November, which is the anniversary of Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen’s discovery of the existence of X-rays in 1895.
International Day of Radiology 2016
The International Day of Radiology (IDoR) 2016 will be dedicated to breast imaging and the essential role that radiology plays in the detection, diagnosis and management of diseases of the breast.
The College will use IDoR 2016 to raise the profile of radiology and the knowledge and expertise of the radiologist. All College members are encouraged to use this day to spread the word to patients, the community and governments about the vital role radiology plays in diagnosing and managing illness.
The Faculty of Clinical Radiology will provide further information on planned IDoR activities in due course.
