The Radiology Research Committee is a Standing Committee of Council.
At its meeting of 12 November 2004, Council agreed to the establishment
of a Radiology Research Committee.
The Committee has now been convened and held its first meeting on 22
June 2005. The Committee formalised its terms of reference and work-shopped
the development of a research strategy.
The Radiology Research Committee is responsible for developing research
in the field of radiology by:
- providing advice to Council and other College Boards, committees
and groups regarding radiology research
- facilitating communication amongst Fellows of the College on research
matters
- encouraging collaboration between Fellows and other stakeholders in
radiology research
- identifying strategies for encouraging young researchers in the field
- identifying strategies for building the research capacity of the
College
- coordinating College research bids for national or other appropriate
initiatives
- reviewing and awarding annual research grants from the College Research
Grant funding pool
- report to Council regularly on the deliberations and activities of
the committee.
- reporting to the membership through the College newsletter, website
and by annual report.
- promoting international multi-centre research.
