Radiation Oncology

medical-expertThe need for skills in radiation oncology research complements our adoption of the CanMEDS model (The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada’s model of the seven roles of a doctor) not only in our new radiation oncology training program but in our College learning and development framework. The CanMEDS model identifies the role of medical expert as central to the work of a radiation oncologist while the six other roles of Scholar (ie. Researcher), Professional, Communicator, Collaborator, Manager and Health Advocate are intended to encompass all aspects of the radiation oncology profession.
